Wings Announces Aircraft Acquisition | business thread

NEWPORT BEACH, Calif.–(BUSINESS WIRE)–Wings Capital Partners LLC (“Wings”) today announced the purchase of two narrow-body commercial aircraft, adding a Boeing 737-8 MAX and an Airbus A321-200 to its portfolio. This transaction, along with other recent acquisitions, added seven narrow-body aircraft to Wings’ portfolio over the past two quarters. Each of the newly purchased aircraft is leased to leading airlines in Europe and the United States.

“Expanding the Wings portfolio with young, high-quality aircraft is a fundamental tenet of our long-term strategy,” said Nicolas P. Stable, Senior Vice President, Head of Aircraft Transactions.

Notably, one acquisition involved transferring the beneficial interest in the aircraft (with an attached lease) from SMBC Aviation Capital to the newly created GATS online platform, a first for both companies.

“SMBC Aviation Capital is delighted to continue its business partnership with Wings Capital Partners,” said Michael Littleton, Head of Aircraft Trading, SMBC Aviation Capital. “We are also delighted to have completed this transfer using the GATS platform, a first for all parties involved and we appreciate the support of the Wings and airline teams who made this possible.”
