Vice President Mr. Venkaiah Naidu visits the Indigenous aircraft carrier Vikrant- The New Indian Express

KOCHI: Vice President Mr. Venkaiah Naidu visited the indigenous aircraft carrier Vikrant on Sunday, which is under construction at the Cochin Limited (CSL) shipyard.

Naidu visited the IAC Vikrant on his return from Lakshadweep to Kochi on Sunday. He received a warm welcome at Kochi Naval Airport. He reached the city aboard a special Air Force aircraft carrier. Governor of Kerala Arif Mohammad Khan, Mayor of Kochi M Anil Kumar and Minister of Industries P Rajeeve greeted him at the naval airport.

The Vice President received a detailed briefing on IAC Vikrant from Madhu S Nair, President and CEO of CSL. Nair explained the capabilities and strengths of the yard and his contributions to the development of indigenous technologies and the creation of world-class capabilities.

The Indian Navy gave a detailed presentation of the ship and its capabilities. VP visited the Hanger Deck and the flight deck of the ship.

The Vice President was accompanied by Governor Khan, Minister Rajeeve and Rear Admiral Antony George, Chief of Staff of Southern Naval Command.

The vice president, after attending various functions in Kochi and Kottayam on Sunday and Monday, will depart for Delhi on Tuesday morning.
