Plane crash in San Marcos – The plane ‘clips the car’ during an emergency landing on the street with shock photos of the wreckage at the intersection

A PLANE made an emergency landing in the middle of a busy intersection, cutting off a car and leaving passers-by stunned.

Authorities closed roads in San Marcos after the small Cessna plane dived into the intersection on Saturday afternoon.

All passengers are out of the downed plane, San Marcos Fire Department said.

Photos on social media reveal the damaged aircraft sitting in the middle of a road with emergency responders surrounding the scene.

A passerby posted a video on Instagram showing the damage and saying he had seen the plane with a car.

“2 people on the plane are fine,” he said in the comments.

“The older lady and young child in the car appear shaken but unharmed.

“I think they’re just a little scared,” he said of the two passengers in the car.

The onlooker said he rushed to the scene when he saw what appeared to be a propeller plane diving towards the road.

The emergency landing took place at the intersection of South Rancho Santa Fe Road and Melrose Drive.

The San Diego Sheriff’s Department will close the roads, firefighters said.

Passengers in the plane and the vehicle that was hit are being treated for minor injuries, FOX 5 reported.

The reason for the emergency landing is currently unknown.

It comes less than a year after another couple were terrified when they were hit by a plane making an emergency landing not far from Saturday’s crash.

In August 2021, an unsuspecting couple was shocked when they saw a plane heading straight for them on Interstate 5 in Del Mar.

“We were driving down the freeway, talking, when all of a sudden we felt something huge hitting us and glass shattering everywhere,” Sarah Tribett told FOX 5.

Sarah and her husband Dane were on their way to the beach to celebrate their birthday when a single-engine Piper PA-32 fell on them.

“All of a sudden we just see the plane in front of us,” Tribett said.

“We were scared out of our wits.”

The plane landed directly above the couple, shattering glass and soaking the car in fuel.

Miraculously, the pilot and passenger of the aircraft were uninjured and occupants of nearby vehicles were slightly injured.

Tribett told FOX 5 the incident was so surreal he felt like it didn’t actually happen.

“It’s definitely a story to tell our families,” she said.
